President Of Mediox, Inc Donates 1% Of Company Shares To The Methuselah Foundation

The co-founder of Mediox, Inc., Alex Zhavoronkov, today announced a donation of portion of his company stock representing 1% of company total issued shares to the Methuselah Foundation.

Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA (1888PressRelease) February 06, 2008 - Seattle, WA - The co-founder of Mediox, Inc., Alex Zhavoronkov, today announced a donation of portion of his company stock representing 1% of company total issued shares to the Methuselah Foundation.

“From the inception of Mediox, our team decided to model the company after Google and benchmark their best practices. This 1% donation to the Methuselah Foundation is our way of giving back to society”, said Alex Zhavoronkov, president of Mediox, Inc.

“Helping extend human lifespan indefinitely has been my goal for many years. The Methuselah foundation has a strategy and the tools required to combat aging and we are proud to have them as shareholders of Mediox Inc.”, Zhavoronkov added.

Over the past several years many prominent businessmen including Peter Thiel, founder of PayPal, Jay Walker, founder of Priceline, donated to the Methuselah Foundation to help accelerate anti-aging research.

“The creativity and lateral thinking that is so evident in Mediox's Smart Tray is the main driver of technological progress in all areas of human endeavor, and the minds who do it best tend to appreciate each other's efforts. Therefore, despite the apparent lack of connection, it is with great gratitude but no great surprise that we at the Methuselah Foundation, the world's leading non-profit focused on defeating aging, have recently received the generous gift of 1% of Mediox stock. We wish Mediox the utmost success - not only in what is now our own interests, but in the interests of all innovators worldwide.”, said Aubrey de Grey, Chairman and Chief Science Officer of the Methuselah Foundation.

About The Methuselah Foundation:

The Methuselah Foundation is working to develop science that is capable of repairing the damage that accumulates over time to cause the pathology of age-related disease and dysfunction. Foundation initiatives join those of many research teams already hard at work towards repairing certain forms of this damage.

To this end the Foundation currently funds two projects:
1) LysoSENS - isolation and targeting of bacterial enzymes to the lysosome to degrade otherwise indigestible and damaging 'junk'.
2) MitoSENS - the transfer of damage prone mitochondrial genes from vulnerable mitochondria to the relative safety of the cellular nucleus
