President Obama’s Plan Backs RBMs

DiaTri to benefit from $634 billion reform plan.

(1888PressRelease) March 21, 2009 - Last Thursday, President Obama released a budget proposal for nearly $634 Billion to finance Health Care Reform in 2009. One of the key components of this proposal is the focus on the value and expected savings of upwards of $260 Million in the first 10 years by utilizing and implementing more Radiology Benefit Management solutions, technologies, and delivery systems even within the Medicare and Medicaid environments.

This is clearly a result of the on-going increases in both costs and utilization of high end Diagnostic Imaging studies such as MRI, CT and PET Scans due to the technology enhancements and the ever increasing benefits and uses of these tests by treating physicians. Also, it is clearly a result of the President’s recognition of the value these programs have been bringing to such arenas as the Workers’ Compensation industry for several years now. For 2009, Diagnostic Imaging will again show itself as one of the fastest growing medical expenses reaching upwards of $100 Billion per year and is expected to double just over the next 4 short years. Unlike only a few years ago, Diagnostic Imaging is now increasing at a rate of more than double that of Pharmacy, yet Pharmacy continues to be the main focus of Third Party Administrators, Employers and Health Plans alike.

As a result of this necessary shift in focus, DiaTri – the Nation’s Premier National Radiology Management Organization- is poised for strong growth to meet the challenges ahead as we have been focusing on these exact principals of Diagnostic Imaging for 10 years now. Imaging is, and has always been, DiaTri’s core competency which is evident in its strong track record of innovation, world-class service levels, and national recognition within the industry. To this day, that innovation continues as DiaTri partners with other innovators within the Radiology Management industry resulting in DiaTri’s ability to stay on the cutting-edge and offer its partners the most effective and valuable solution available and to continue saving the Health Care Industry millions of dollars per year at NO COST.
