January 11, 2007 - San Francisco, CA, January 11, 2006 – In an effort to help parents start their preschooler off on the right track with healthy eating habits, Preschool Nutrition writer, Kati Chevaux has launched the 2007 Preschooler Health Eating Challenge.
The 2007 Preschooler Healthy Eating Challenge is provided as a guide to a year of healthy eating. Each week, Chevaux will publish one food challenge - a small change to make to your preschooler’s diet, a specific diet goal to reach for that week, or a new family eating routine. With each challenge, parents will get helpful tips for successful behavior change in their eating habits.
Chevaux writes, “At a young age, preschoolers are beginning to form eating habits and food preferences. As a parent, you can make sure your preschooler learns healthy food habits by choosing the right foods for them. In the 2007 Preschooler Healthy Eating Challenge, parents will learn which beverages are best for their preschooler, how to meet the recommended daily allowances of fruits and vegetables, what a diet rich in whole grains consists of, how to implement a healthy diet routine for their families, and much more.”
The goals and changes of the 2007 Preschooler Health Eating Challenge are based on the most recent scientific research on preschooler nutrition and current nutrition recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics and other public health organizations.
