July 02, 2008 - Just launched in May, Pregnancy Planet, a new free website for expectant parents, is already announcing plans for major upgrades to its new social network for parents, and parents to be. Next month, Pregnancy Planet community members will be able to upload photos, parenting-related avatars, custom themed wallpapers, music, and videos to create their own unique profile. Also, in the near future, the website will offer streaming television programs, and live web events geared towards the TTC and parenting community.
The website is designed to be fun and entertaining for the millions of young people who need to be able to make informed decisions about conception, pregnancy and birth. The website owner (who is a TTC parent) says, "I want to provide young parents and TTC couples with a free online resource that is both informational and fun, and inclusive of all of the wonderful high tech tools that the internet can offer.” Pregnancy Planet offers hundreds of free informational articles on a wide variety of subjects, covering infertility and pre-conception concerns, prenatal testing and pregnancy risk factors, labor preparation, postpartum matters and ideas related to getting ready for the new arrival.
In addition to the written content, Pregnancy Planet members will find plenty of amusing activities: from the virtual baby page builder, due date calculator, and the week-by-week pregnancy calendar to the online discussion boards, tickers and blinkies, and loads of other interactive tools and features.
