December 01, 2008 - Long time packaging supplier of food and non food packaging to paper, packaging, food and specialty distributors, PPI is expanding their line of eco friendly alternatives to include PPI 4-20 thermo form PET packaging.
Produced 100% from recycled PET bottles, FDA approved material is also available biodegradable and compostable. When disposed in any environment where there is continuous microbial activity such as landfills, industrial and home compost facilities, or natural bodies of water, material will degrade into carbon dioxide and water in 9 months to 5 years. Both materials are recyclable and do not negatively effect existing recycling streams. Currently 8 out of 10 plastic drink bottles end up in landfills with the average person discarding 166 bottles annually.
FDA approval, high clarity, good strength, wide temperature range, lack of storage or handling limitations, and recyclability offer environmental benefits over traditional and other eco friendly alternatives. Competitive costs, range of stock or custom sizes, and availability allow for quick and easy transition.
Product line currently includes wide range of trays, clamshells, bowls and lids for most food related applications. Custom designs and sizes are available within weeks with minimal tooling charges. All products can be manufactured in high clarity clear, tint or opaque colors
"Closed Loop" programs are also available where companies or institutions can return collected plastic drink bottles which will be remanufactured into packaging for the company or institution returning the bottles.
