February 06, 2009 - They lead the field in the UK, mainly due to their no-nonsense attitude towards the workability of the products they sell. Speaking to Andy, the Managing Director, it is clear that they regularly turn down offers to distribute other brands and products simply because they do not perform or don’t offer the value for their customers.
Andy commented “We are only interested in the best of the best measured by a combination of performance against value. We have no interest in selling £10 value products that are heavily marketed and which retail for £50. We don’t do “magic” additives because they simply don’t exist. Instead we offer proven and workable additive based solutions from the best in the business. That is why we are the only company in the UK that offer a comprehensive support service and full money back guarantee with all our products.”
Powerenhancer were also the first to dispel the myths on fuel additives and revealed the truth surrounding the importance of polyether-amine (PEA) chemistry in additives. It is the use of PEA that manufactures of second-rate off-the –shelf cleaners (or fuel conditioners as Andy prefers to call them), tried to hide. This is because Polyether-amine is the only chemistry compound that is proven by the Worldwide Fuel Charter to effectively and safely remove deposits from a combustion engine.
The patent for PEA is owned by Techron, of which BG is a significant partner in the use of PEA in its additives, but it isn’t cheap. This makes it very easy to gauge the performance of a petrol or diesel cleaner by simply measuring the amount of Polyetheramine chemistry. Lower cost cleaners have very little PEA and tend to contain PBA, which according to experts is chemically not that different to white spirit. Although these types of cleaners can help clean injectors, unbeknown to consumers, they are more generally used as fuel conditioners in that they help improve combustion and lower emissions but do not provide any long lasting cleaning benefit.
