Postcards From New York Launches Appeal For “Your” Postcards From New York

Postcards from New York (PCFNY) Your "one minute vacation" to the city that never sleeps invites you to share "your" New York experiences by sharing postcards you collect or have received from visitors to the Big Apple.

(1888PressRelease) March 22, 2008 - New York, NY Postcards from New York kicks off the ezines publications 1st Anniversary with a spirited appeal to visitors to the Big Apple, seasoned residents and anyone who has ever received a “postcard" from New York. To quote the March 19th issue: “We want your “postcards” from New York.”

The publication, which touts itself as “your one minute vacation to the Big Apple," extends an invitation to share cherished memories, haphazard experiences and funny stories about what makes New York special to you. “We want to know about your New York” said Jacqueline Cable, Art Dealer, editor and publisher of Postcards From New York, "as we lay ground work for a book along the lines of George Lankevich’s "Postcards from Times Square."

“Walking through Art Expo a couple weeks ago at the Javits Center, images of New York in every conceivable medium by artists from across the globe were a vivid reminder that New York is center front in the “world’s imagination and psyche” Ms. Cable went on to say: “There are 8.2 million people in the “naked” city and over 45 million tourists each year, and I’ll bet everyone of them has a special New York story to tell."

With countless New York magazines and guidebooks already available, Cable was asked “What makes Postcards from New York different?”

"Postcards celebrates the “little” things that make New York unique among world class cities,” said Ms. Cable. "Like looking through the zoom lens of a 35mm, Postcards focuses on: a hole-in-the-wall newsstand where you can enjoy a classic New York egg cream, a great work of outdoor sculpture thousands pass everyday without notice, a favorite place to enjoy espresso, an overstuffed burger, or an unforgettable fresh baked bagel, a soothing waterfall behind slabs of the former “Berlin Wall,” a little known park, or a native Eskimo woman weaving a traditional rug without a loom or shuttle."

“Everyone wants to come to New York if only vicariously through a movie or postcard.” Cable went on to say, "We encourage readers to share their memories and stories so we can all be enriched by their experiences; to that end, Postcards invites tourists and residents to send in their postcards, check out the Postcards from New York website at www.postcardsfromnewyork.com and sign-up to receive the free ezine via email or RSS feed."

Send postcards to PCFNY, Box 3434, West Englewood Station, NJ 07666-3434; or, if they are too precious to part with, scan and send by email to info ( @ ) postcardsfromnewyork dot com or postcardsfromnewyork ( @ ) yahoo dot com dot
