March 10, 2009 - Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm Inc. (www.GAOComm.com) has released a portable optical fiber identifier (GAO820), which is specifically designed for engineers and technicians to identify excessive losses and dark or live fiber due to misalignment of mechanical splices or poor connections. This optimized device is commonly used to display transmission direction, identify multiple signal frequencies and detect bare fibers, close packed fiber and pigtails.
Normal communications can be maintained with a very small signal loss while it identifies the transmission direction, speed and relative signal strength on its 5-level display.
