(1888PressRelease) August 14, 2008 - NEW DELHI - VoIP Field Verified Program offers flexible option for SIP-based call control providers. Polycom, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLCM), the global leader in telepresence, video and voice communications solutions, today announced the launch in Asia Pacific of the VoIP Field Verified (VFV) Program, which recognises SIP-based call control providers that have successfully integrated Polycom VoIP phones with their call control platforms.

Recognised as the leading independent supplier of VoIP desktop and conference phones, Polycom is an ideal partner for call control providers seeking to take advantage of the rapid growth of voice-over-IP solutions in the Asia Pacific region. The VFV Program provides an excellent value proposition for platform vendors, enabling them to speed time-to-market cycles and increase revenues through their own in-house interoperability testing.

The VFV Program demonstrates Polycom’s commitment to working with ecosystem partners to develop open standards-based unified communications solutions that are easy to use and deploy. Eligibility for the program is dependent on platform vendors performing comprehensive testing in their own lab, as well as testimonials from at least two end user customers that verify successful integrations with the call control platform. The are no certification costs or annual membership fees associated with the VFV Program.

The first partner to join the VFV Program in the Asia Pacific region is Hong Kong-based Deltapath Commerce and Technology Limited, the provider of a SIP-based PBX platform with prefix-free call-routing intelligence that enables users to receive calls wherever they may be located.

"The VFV Program has helped Deltapath grow substantially, by enabling us to access Polycom technical information and resources, and better leverage Polycom’s superior voice communications solutions including Polycom’s HD Voice™ technolgoy through enhanced integration," said David Liu, founder and CEO of Deltapath. "The VFV certification also gives customers the added piece-of-mind that we have rigorously tested our SIP-based solutions for interoperability with Polycom’s solutions and successfully deployed them within unified communications environments."

"The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) was established to promote interoperability amongst devices from multiple vendors, giving end users greater flexibility in choosing solutions to support their business communication and collaboration requirements," said Peter White, APAC head of voice sales at Polycom. "The VFV Program is testament to Polycom’s ongoing commitment to platform interoperability and to working with our ecosystem partners to develop solutions-based on open standards that are easy for customers to use, deploy and manage."
