Indianapolis, IN (1888PressRelease)
December 05, 2007 - The Indiana Intelligence Fusion Center collects, analyzes, and disseminates information and intelligence data on criminal and terrorist activity in the State of Indiana.
Nirenberg’s lecture explained ways of visualizing footprints and shoeprints that are invisible to the naked eye. “Terrorists and criminals can wear gloves, but it is nearly impossible to enter and leave a crime scene without using their feet,” Nirenberg says. “Just by knowing how to examine a footprint a tremendous amount of information about a suspect can be determined.”
Footprints are just as distinct as fingerprints and they yield much more information about the person who made them. A suspect’s footprints may reveal their height, sex, anatomic deformities, and if they were walking, running, or carrying something.
Dr. Nirenberg has published on forensic podiatry, serves on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Forensic Podiatry and the prestigious International Association for Identification’s Forensic Podiatry Subcommittee.
