March 06, 2009 - PMRESTAs Search and Rescue Technician-Basic will cover an overview of (land) Search and Rescue Operations, The Incident Command Structure (ICS) and Legal and Ethical Considerations; Support Skills and Equipment, Psychology and Physical Fitness, Survival, Clothing, Equipment and Response Pack; Map and Compass Work, Navigation and Tracking and Basic Rescue.
This three-day course will be held on March 11, 12th and 13th at the Tafton Fire Station, Route 507, Tafton, Pa.. Class begins at 7:00 PM and the cost is $25.00 per student.
Search and Rescue Technician-Basic is open to all Fire, Rescue, Emergency Medical Services Personnel, and those individuals involved in, or wishing to become involved in Search and Rescue.
Future training courses on PMRESTA's line up include SAR Operations I, Rope Rescue, Water Rescue, Wilderness First Aid, Boat Operations, Lines and Riggings, Wilderness EMT Upgrade and Wilderness First Responder.
