PMI Announces First Short Course Of 2008

PMI looks forward to once again spending an informative and fun-filled week with the attendees.

(1888PressRelease) November 08, 2007 - Porous Materials, Inc. (PMI) is proud to announce its first short course of 2008 to be hosted during the week of May 13th-15th at its headquarters in Ithaca, NY. Our short courses, which run twice a year, bring together pore structure and characterization experts for three days of lectures, discussions and hands-on practice with our machines. The presented material addresses the theory and application of methods for determining pore structure and pore distribution in a variety of materials.

Course attendees will learn the basics and come up to speed on the latest advances in porosity characterization techniques. The schedule includes plenty of time for one-on-one discussion with out technical staff and engineers, and each day ends with dinner at one of our fine local restaurants. We also offer sight-seeing opportunities which include a wine tasting tour of some of the area's extraordinary wineries, a tour of some of Ithaca's beautiful local water falls (one of the main attractions here), and a walking tour of the Cornell University campus, one of the premier Ivy League schools in the country.

Here's what some of the attendees of the October 2007 short course said:

"The course was very informative and well planned. The schedule & lectures covered a wide variety of testing procedures for different types of materials. I found the course very beneficial. I would be interested in coming back....There is great expertise at PMI and I was very impressed. Job well done!"

"This was an excellent course. Very well done and one of the most comprehensive courses I've been to."

"Overall, this course was excellent. I had no background relating to porosity, and now I feel like I understand the basics enough to deal with my specific projects. In addition to the excellent scientific aspects, the non-scientific aspects of the course (accommodations, meals, organization, etc.) were the best I've seen all year at any similar type of event."

As you can see, we do our best to make sure the course is not only informative, but fun as well. To find out more information on the short course and to register now, please visit our website at:
