March 08, 2009 - The MACK Group, LLC, a premier asbestos abatement, mold, lead, biological, chemical and demolition contractor recently completed the removal of plaster silica ceiling and walls within an active laboratory facility in New Jersey.
A large Fortune 500 pharmaceutical client needed 15,000 square feet of former laboratory space demolished to make way for new operations. The area contained old plaster silica ceilings and walls and needed to be demolished without any dust emissions and so as not to disturb the adjacent active laboratory operations.
To accomplish this project within the client’s specification, The Mack Group, LLC (MACK) agreed to work during the client’s off hours so as not to disturb the adjacent active operations.
Prior to starting demolition, the area was sealed off utilizing plastic sheeting. Negative air with HEPA air filtration machines was also installed so that any potential dust created would not leave the work area.
Actual demolition was performed utilizing laborers equipped with half face respirators, Tyvek suits, gloves & boots. All ceiling, wall and floor materials were carefully bagged and disposed of.
The project was completed without incident or injury and on schedule
