For customers with legacy data, Phantom Data Systems earlier this year offered two solutions. First, the standard HSM software can manage a direct attached library and support both the UDF and Diamond file systems from Plasmon in addition to the new hardware you select, preventing the need to migrate data. The data can also be migrated instead of managed in dual mode. For Plasmon Archive Appliance customers or customers wishing to migrate their data to newer storage technology, Phantom Data Systems will provide a tool, which will seamlessly migrate data from your current system to the new Blu ray archive.

This new feature will allow customers to connect the migratory product to their existing Plasmon MO or UDO optical library as well as a new Blu-Ray optical library. Once the libraries are configured the customer can select the migration feature to automatically copy all their existing data over to industry standard UDF Blu-Ray format. They can select between disc-to-disc copy, many MO/UDO discs to one Blu-Ray disc, or they can copy all the existing MO/UDO discs to one large volume
