December 01, 2009 - Planet Forward are growing again and are excited to announce a major expansion of their product line which means that going green has never been quite so colourful due to a new selection of coloured stainless steel water bottles. Planet Forward have expanded their earth friendly product line to now include 10 colours of stainless steel bottles and new designs and cuts of organic tops including an Organic Cotton Unisex Scarf.
The Vaughan, Ontario based company has crafted an array of sustainable products which are designed with practicality in mind and eco-appeal at the heart of everything they sell. “Offering products that people will use on a daily basis was a key part in our decision making. Therefore the environmental impact of consumers moving toward sustainable water bottles, reusable bags, organic fashion and such would be felt on a regular basis” said co-owner Tracy Ritson.
Tracy’s business partner Angela Puzzolanti added “We aim to make a difference by making fashionable eco-friendly products that are affordable, durable and stylish. We’re also offering special discounts for the holiday season as going green shouldn’t be expensive – we know most consumers surveyed say they would prefer to support an eco-conscious company and we strive to be that”
The third co-owner Joelle Spadacini Kelava is thrilled that “Our new extended selection of BPA free stainless steel bottles are now in stock and the colour selection means everyone can find a bottle they will have affinity for. We now offer 10 different colours to choose from and also offer stainless steel thermals, a wider selection of organic clothing, reusable bags, a toxin free cleaning kit and more”
Planet Forward was founded in 2008 by the three with the premise that their new business would “Represent that you must be the change you want to see in the world. We want Planet Forward to make people feel involved in a more green future and simultaneously use our business model to develop the pay it forward theme. As we grow the eco initiatives that we support will grow in tandem” Along with numerous internal green Initiatives, Planet Forward donates a percentage of all gross sales to 1% for the Planet in support of various environmental causes. Other partners/memberships include: Responsible Purchasing Network, Amnesty International, Zerofootprint, Bullfrog Power, Green Enterprise Toronto, Recycling Council of Ontario, and Kiva.
Tracy explains “We wanted to create a new business model that took people, planet and profit into consideration at every turn. We believe that being eco-conscious shouldn’t cost you more and that if planet friendly sustainable choices were made more accessible to consumers, they would be chosen more often”
Joelle expanded “We’re enthused to make sure people are aware of the difference they can make by considering their purchasing habits and educating themselves. Our site is a great source of information via our blog and partnerships and we aim to keep the positive momentum going. We’re offering both a warehouse sale in December and a special 25% discount through the holiday season” Tracy concluded that “Living in an eco-friendly way is so important and we don’t think it should be difficult, expensive or left up to giant corporations. More common purchases such as the products we sell can make such a difference to the well being of our communities and indeed the planet”
