The idea first conceived and implemented by Alex Tew, a British college student trying to pay for his college education, created The Million Dollar Homepage, as a way to help with schooling costs. Through the creation of this website, he has started a revolution of new and effective online advertising. Over the last several months, the idea of pixel advertising has had a huge impact on the Internet advertising world.
The Founders of this site, Brett Gottlieb, a 29-year-old financial adviser and Brian Levy, a 22 year old college student, came up with the idea while spending time with some family members over a holiday. The vision for this pixel advertisement business was to help create an additional way for people to find jobs and for companies to post jobs that was a little more cost effective and new to the industry. After a few hours of quick brainstorming they came up with the idea for their website, www.themilliondollarjobpage.com.
Brian and Brett then researched and studied their competitors in the pixel and job marketplaces, and came up with a long-term vision for their internet business. They identified three key components to the success in pixel advertising and the job posting market: creating a niche marketplace, advertising using various high traffic mediums and providing additional value that other job sites didn’t. By focusing on these key components they hope to make The Million Dollar Job Page the next highly visited job board in the country. In fact they already have plans in the works to expand on their site.
Themilliondollarjobpage.com officially launched on Tuesday, April 18th and with very little marketing to date has already received over 2000 hits. Brett and Brian have already landed 3 advertisers for a total of 1,000 pixels sold, most of which are family and friends that work for various companies and liked the concept. The plan is now to start creating awareness by positing on blogs, sending emails and calling various employers. With their dedication and commitment to the company and true belief that this concept will work, this business idea should most likely succeed.
Brett and Brian began with a simple, already successful idea and just expanded on it. With just some personal savings to work with they drew up a plan they hope will be the next great idea in pixel advertising. Using some creative thinking, real world business experience and a determination to begin their first start-up venture, these two guys are hoping to bring forth another success story in the growing pixel advertising market.
