The insurer hired PictureU, an event imaging and data capture solutions provider, to deploy its proprietary 3D Photo technology in an effort to create excitement for the brand. By the time it was all over PictureU engaged with thousands of fans who went on to create social buzz by sharing the images on Facebook and Twitter. The GEICO footprint was continuously surrounded by swarms of people watching the action unfold.

    The PictureU 3D Photo technology uses a multi-camera array shot against a green screen. Proprietary software then produces a real-time "time-slice" 3D stop-action effect made popular by Hollywood movies such as The Matrix and Inception. The entire fan experience from engagement to delivery is often less than three minutes. "When I first saw how fans were reacting I knew we had a hit on our hands", said Farishta Haider with the GEICO marketing team. "I couldn't be more happy with the results."
