October 17, 2008 - Newly opened photography studio, Surreal Photography LLC, is having its First Annual Halloween Location Shoot at Old City Cemetery on October 25, 2008. 20% of session fees will be given to the Cemetery Recovery & Preservation Trust of Jacksonville (crptjax.org).
CRPTjax is a Florida nonprofit organization founded in 2007. They are dedicated to restoring beauty and pride to the historic cemeteries of Duval County and educating the public on the importance of preserving part of Jacksonville's cultural and architectural heritage - its cemeteries.
There are over 100 cemeteries that are either abandoned or neglected and are part of Jacksonville's history. These cemeteries need to be preserved and protected.
CRPTjax fulfills its Mission by coordinating activities such as cemetery cleanups, preservation, grounds maintenance, cemetery security, community awareness events, and educational programs.
Sessions will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at dark. $50 for a 30 minute session (prints are not included in session fee). Sessions are to be booked in advance by contacting Surreal Photography.
