Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease)
April 12, 2008 - BARRINGTON, N.J. Scott Campbell, (composer of “Opening Day”), Mike Caro, (musician and producer for the song), and John Daubert, (providing the vocals), all teamed up through the online songwriting/musician networking site “Just Plain Folks”, (Brian Austin Whitney, Founder). The song, "Opening Day", had gained recommendations from Greg Luzinski (former great for The Phillies, and member of the 1980 World Champion team, and “Baseball Almanac”. Daubert handed Luzinski a CD a few days before the home opener during a pre-season game in Philadelphia. Sean, from Baseball Almanac, created a page on their site for the song, as well as emailed two contacts with The Phillies. John Daubert, (member of the original band “Too Little Time”, who lives in Southern New Jersey near the ballpark), received a call from his granddaughter, Alexis Daubert, 13, who was attending the game. Alexis heard what she thought to be her Pop Pop singing over the loudspeakers, which prompted the call to Daubert.
