November 12, 2007 - PetTravelCenter.com today announced a major enhancement to its website that will benefit people who travel with their pets. Now pet travelers can search for and reserve pet-friendly hotels and other accommodations around the world on the site, as well as book airline tickets and car rentals.
“We’re excited to be able to offer these requested and much-needed services to our worldwide visitors — especially to pet travelers as the holidays approach,” said Tom James, president of the company. “It makes perfect sense not only to provide pet travel products and great information to pet parents, but to help them get to where they’re going by offering pet-friendly hotels, car rentals and airline flights at competitive Internet rates while they’re visiting our PetTravelCenter.com community,” he said.
The new hotel booking engine offers thousands of pet-friendly hotel properties around the world. Visitors can search by city, hotel amenities or address. A search for expanded accommodations — not just pet-friendly — is also an option. Flights have multiple search options, including airline company, aircraft type, class, connections, and a search for only refundable fares. Car rentals are searchable by type of vehicle desired, as well as which car rental agency is preferred.
The company recently implemented a toll-free telephone number for its hotels and vacation rentals listings for new reservations or to make inquiries about existing ones. Customers in the U.S. and Canada can call 1-800-646-7957; in Europe, the number is 00-800-11-20-11-40.
“People tell me how difficult it is to find pet-friendly accommodations when they travel. By adding these and other enhancements to our website, we’re continually striving to live up to our company slogan that says ‘we make pet travel fun and easy,’” James said.
To help celebrate its first year of operation, the company is offering free shipping on pet products it carries in its online pet store through December 31, 2007.
PetTravelCenter.com is also in the final weeks of its First Annual PTC Photo Contest that will award pet shutterbugs with cash and other prizes. The contest runs through November 30.
