People You Need to Know, Inc., publisher of metro Atlanta’s premiere business spotlight publication, will sponsor a health screening service for a women’s abuse shelter in metro Atlanta.
On April 24, 2007, Dr. Frenesa Hall, CEO and Co-Founder of Mobile-Medicine.net, and Donna Cochran, a nurse at On-Site Health Service Providers, will work together with representatives from Partnership Against Domestic Violence to conduct a free health exam for each resident.
According to the AMA, a woman is battered in the United States every 9 seconds. Many of these women, along with their children, must seek shelter immediately in order to survive. Furthermore, the CDC reports that nearly 5.3 million intimate partner victimizations occur each year among U.S. women ages 18 and older. This violence results in nearly 2 million injuries and nearly 1,300 deaths.
The free health exam will include a blood pressure screening, a brief exam to look for and treat acute illnesses, and if necessary, provide tests for urinary tract infections.
Dr. Hall says, “It’s a pleasure to have an opportunity to give back to the metro Atlanta community, especially to those who are in desperate need of medical care.”
Vice President of People You Need to Know, Inc., Jacqueline Benjamin-Thomas stated, “I’ve known many women who have been victims of domestic violence and were unable to get necessary medical care. I’m grateful for the on-site services Dr. Hall’s company provides.”
Mobile-Medicine.net provides convenient, personalized, quality medical services (physicals, blood work, EKG’s, treatment of acute illnesses, etc.) in the home or office of patients who are either unable or too busy to visit a doctor.
Dr. Hall has a B.A. from Harvard University and received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has tirelessly dedicated herself to making quality medical care convenient for everyone. Dr. Frenesa Hall can be reached at 678-623-3038.
