July 16, 2009 - One of key Russian agribusinesses OJSC PAVA took part in the 7th International conference on Sustainable and Effective Agriculture through a Systems Approach to No-Till held in Dnepropetrovsk region (the Ukraine), on June 23-26. The company representatives noted that this event provided a lot of important information on new agronomic technologies which are implemented in PAVA’s new project Russian Agricultural Division.
The three main issues raised at round-table discussions were crop protection, method of zero tillage and selecting plants for effective crop rotation schemes. “There was quite a number of interesting updates to be taken into account, seeing that our agricultural project is based on most advanced farming management techniques”, comments Andrey Igoshin, PAVA President. “The conference gave a strong proof that we have chosen the right course of development, and sustainability of RAD activities can measure up to international standards”.
RAD, which presently controls over 160,000 ha, says that during next winter crop sowing season a significant part of fields will be cultivated using a no-till technology. No-till method is a good cost-cutting practice, as it greatly reduces fuel expenditure, besides it has minimal impact on soil and restores the humus layer.
