PAVA Eyes Export Expansion

PAVA seeks more partnerships in Asia and Africa diversifying its export activities in changing economic landscape.

(1888PressRelease) April 08, 2009 - One of major Russian grain processors PAVA makes a strategic choice to widen geography of its overseas sales seeking more partnerships on the Asian and African continents. High-margin exporting has continuously been among priority businesses, and last year the company boosted its sales abroad by 77.5%.

“We maintain stable relations with 13 countries shipping flour not only commercially, but also as humanitarian aid”, comments Angela Kiseleva, PAVA Commercial Director. “However, in view of the global economic turmoil our policy definitely seeks to diversify the client base. Talks with UAE, Guinea, Benin and South-African Republic are being conducted; besides the company is constantly on the lookout for large-scale tenders.”

PAVA focuses its efforts on countries where the traditional food ration includes wheat flour and wheat-based goods, and is committed to adjusting quality parameters of its products so they would suit the national cuisine needs. There is an emphasis on co-operation with large traders having vast networks abroad which increases chances to venture into new markets.

The company sees strong growth potential for exporting which will be driven by competitiveness. The scope of activities, enhanced cost controls and transition to a vertically integrated production chain will contribute to maintaining a good price/quality ratio. Besides, in 2007 the International Business Department was expanded and re-organized into PAVA Export Ltd. - a separate structural unit - which allows to co-ordinate effective logistics and pricing.

PAVA has an experience of collaboration with companies from Thailand, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kenya, Ethiopia and others. In February, Rebrikha mill shipped a trial consignment of new “Zhitnitsa” flour to Lebanon, and later samples of this product were sent to Iran following high ratings given by customers from Central Asian countries.
