Patriotic Short Film Finds A Big Audience

filmmakers and brothers, Donovan and Adam Montierth gave approval for the Department of Defense to show the short film on the American Forces Network and The Pentagon Channel broadening their audience to over one million viewers.

(1888PressRelease) August 06, 2006 - A patriotic short film titled, “Reveille” has been on Google Video (http://video.google.com) since the first of June and in two short months has been viewed over 400,000 times. From the exposure, filmmakers and brothers, Donovan and Adam Montierth gave approval for the Department of Defense to show the short film on the American Forces Network and The Pentagon Channel broadening their audience to over one million viewers.

“We originally made the film to honor our grandfather who was in the Army in World War II,” says Donovan, “but realized that almost everyone has a Veteran close to them, so we broadened the tribute to every Veteran who’s ever served in the US Armed Forces.”

James McEachin (also a decorated Army Veteran with the Silver Star and Purple Heart), an actor from such films as “Play Misty For Me” and the “Perry Mason Mysteries”, stars in “Reveille” and is not surprised by the sudden success. “I call it the little film that could, “says James, “I’ve been to speaking engagements across the country and I get such an overwhelming response to this powerful short film.”

“Reveille” starring James and David Huddleston from such films as “The Big Lebowski” and “Blazing Saddles” was made in 2003 and went to 18 US film festivals in 2004, winning top awards at 8 of them. “Since then, we’ve had huge response to show the film during the Veteran’s Day, Memorial Day and Independence Day holidays.” Adam adds. “Our original intent was to present the short film as a proof of concept for the full-length motion picture, and I think this proves that there is an audience out there that wants to see more.”

Donovan and Adam Montierth and Brothers’ Ink Productions, recently launched the website, www.OurFirstMovie.com, in an effort to raise money to make the anticipated PG-rated family movie. The full-length film version of “Reveille” is called “Capture the Flag” and features a cast of kids along with the two Armed Forces Veterans.

“We wanted to find a way to build a community around our first movie that really incorporates the American spirit,” said Donovan, “and gets people involved and excited about becoming a part of something truly unique.” The www.OurFirstMovie.com website hopes to document the status of the production all the way to the release of the movie into theaters.

About Brothers’ Ink Productions
In an effort to gain more exposure for their screenplays Donovan and Adam Montierth along with writing partner Jason Walters created Brothers’ Ink Productions in 2003. Their idea was to produce short films as a way to market themselves and their full length screenplays, and as a way to one day produce their own major motion pictures. This was the same business model used by such groundbreaking companies as Pixar Animation and Aardman Animations, and the brothers thought that the model would be effective for live action films as well.
