November 17, 2006 - London (longdogfinance) November 10, 2006: The Liverpool Victoria's annual ‘cost of a child’ survey shows that parents need to shell out more than 180,000 pounds per child from birth to age 21. Overall, the cost of children has climbed 28 per cent in the past four years and 9 per cent in the last year alone.
Parents are forced to make sacrifices by cutting on their household expenditures and also putting their savings on hold. Secured and unsecured personal loans are another option available to them to mitigate their miseries.
The cost of education has gone up over a quarter in the past year and it is one of the main factors responsible for increasing the cost of bringing up children in the UK. Education cost alone has risen 26 percent in the past year to almost 47,000 pounds per child.
Another factor responsible for the increasing cost of bringing up is childcare costs. Childcare costs have risen 7 per cent in the past year and now cost parents over 49,000 pounds per child.
