February 09, 2008 - The hottest comedy event of the student calendar, Comedy On Tap is back once again bringing over 20,000 students the very best in rising comedians as well as all ready established names performing at 15 UK universities and over 150 gigs nationwide.
Past performers include Jimmy Carr, Dara O’Briain and Alan Carr. Names already confirmed for 2008 include Jon Richardson (if.comedy best Newcomer nominee 2007) and Andrew Laurence (if.comedy nominee 2007) and in a series of one man specials the 2007 if.comedy winner Brendan Burns.
If that’s not enough; we are once again looking to find the nation’s Funniest Student. Hannah George from Southampton Solent University was the 2007 Champion and walked away with money can’t buy prizes including guaranteed gigs courtesy from Alan Carr and Michael McIntyre’s management Off The Kerb Productions and the opportunity to develop an idea with Paramount Comedy.
The whole experience bowled Hannah over so much that she’s now planning to become a regular on the comedy circuit: “I intend whole-heartedly to remain doing things with comedy throughout my life really. I’ll dedicate my life to comedy – there you go, you heard it here first!”
