February 26, 2008 - Two leading consultancy, marketing, and executive search companies specialising in the entertainment, media and computer and video games industries have merged to form the newly enlarged Overdog Group.
Overdog Group has been formed from the merger of Overdog Marketing, the innovative strategic marketing agency founded by former Eidos exec John Davis and NJD Group, the leading media and entertainment executive search (headhunting and recruitment) organisation.
Acting as a flexible, dynamic strategic consulting company and agency, Overdog Group will offer services ranging from strategy and business development to executive search and recruitment and from branding, corporate and marketing communication to skills development.
The combined group boasts an impressive roster of clients including Warner Bros, Discovery, Eidos, Yahoo and Fox and work with all types of organisation from start-ups to major corporates. The team has significant client and agency-side experience in the games, television, mobile, executive search and casino industries, having built some of the strongest teams and the most successful brands in the entertainment business.

John Davis
John has over 16 years high-profile experience in senior management, marketing and consultancy. A specialist in market-space analysis, risk management, marketing strategy, product and brand development he has helped develop and manage some of the biggest and most successful brands in the computer game sector’s history including Civilization, Lara Croft Tomb Raider, and Hitman. After 9 years at Eidos, latterly as European Marketing Director, Davis formed his own strategic consultancy, Overdog. He has since worked with entertainment clients in mobile, games, DVD, television and casino.
Nicky Davis
Founder of NJD Group which, for 15 years, has been the leading International executive search and management consultancy in the entertainment industry. NJD Group has worked with numerous blue chip clients, including Warner Bros., NBC Universal, Fox, Viacom, Channel4, Sony, Discovery and Yahoo!. Integral to the launch of some of the highest rating digital TV channels in Europe for US Studios, Nicky was the launch CEO and a Director of Film24, a Council Member/Director of the Royal Television Society, on the Board of Women in Film & Television (UK) for 5 years and has sat on various industry committees.
