Orbis Goes Into Orbit

Software pioneer Orbis has gone global.

(1888PressRelease) November 16, 2007 - The Poole-based company is experiencing massive success in Belgium, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the USA.

Their software takes away the legwork of manual processes by automating everyday business tasks. With packages such as TaskCentre in place computers take over the monitoring of accounts and services and action the automatic release of information through email, text or letters.

“Within the past year Orbis has gone global on a really big scale. We’ve achieved 50 per cent growth this year,” said Matt Lidster, sales director of Orbis.

He added: “We’re particularly proud of our success in the States. It’s very hard for a UK company to go into the US and for a local company such as Orbis with just 18 employees it’s a real achievement.”

TaskCentre was the result of a research and development project by Orbis that began in 1997. Staff put the company’s overseas success down to finding good distributors and resellers to take the product on. They now have 29 such distributors in the USA.

Paul Cannon, president of Fisher Technology, the firm overseeing Orbis’ success in the USA, explained why TaskCentre is proving so popular: “It’s a good strong product which meets a need within consumer relationship and financial management.

“The majority of business people in the States are aware of a need to automate things to free up their time to focus on sales and customer service. TaskCentre meets that niche.”

The firm’s USA success centres around Florida and the East Coast but moves are afoot to expand its reach further.
