- Office of Government Commerce Selects Orange for Catalist ProcurementFramework
Orange UK today announced that it has been successful in the tender for aprocurement framework agreement by the OGCbuying.solutions, the commercialtrading arm of the Office of Government Commerce, which will enable Orange tocontinue to offer mobile communications solutions to the public sector forthe next two years.
The Catalist Framework agreement extends Orange's existing relationshipwith the public sector, which began with the Government TelecommunicationsMobile agreement in September 2002. The new Catalist framework extends thepublic sector's use of mobile technology by including mobile data servicessuch as mobile email and remote access to government systems.
Designed to enable Government staff to focus on the delivery of frontlineservices, the Catalist agreement covers all central and local governmentbodies, including the NHS, the police and the criminal justice system.
Orange also announced its intention to work closely with selectedpartners to offer complete managed solutions as part of the frameworkagreement with bespoke deployments of enterprise applications for mobilisedworkforces.

"By implementing mobilesolutions, more public sector employees will be on the road and in thecommunity as well as enabling a better work-life balance for civil servants."
Catalist is designed to simplify the negotiation of contracts by offeringprices pre-agreed with OGCbuying.solutions, the trading arm of the Office ofGovernment Commerce (OGC). Furthermore, there is no need for public sectorcustomers to fund the cost of lengthy tender processes, making working withOrange as a strategic partner easy and efficient with less paperwork.
