May 23, 2008 - Aurora, Illinois – Optimum Nutrition (ON) has donated 8,400 pounds of Lift™ Bars, Steel Bars and other high-protein energy bars to the Northern Illinois Food Bank in St. Charles which is an affiliate of America’s Second Harvest, a national network that secures and distributes over 2 billion pounds of food and grocery items annually to more than 200 food banks. In addition to containing at least 20 grams of high-quality proteins, each bar supplies about the same amount of carbohydrates, dietary fiber, vitamins and essential minerals that would be consumed with a small, nutritious meal.
“We could easily have used these bars as promotional samples, but we consider helping American families a much higher priority,” said Jay Jacobsen, ON’s Marketing Manager. “Our team is dedicated to making a difference for others, whether it’s meeting customer needs or setting an example for community service.”
Founded in 1987, Optimum Nutrition is a leading manufacturer of premium nutritional supplements.
