Site members create an online “golf bag” of their equipment, matching the brand and model of their golf gear. Users can add drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, irons, wedges, putters, gloves, shoes, balls and even accessories such as GPS devices. The user can choose to associate individual pieces of equipment with their rounds of golf to produce statistics specific to their game. oobgolf can then report equipment performance across all users and the over 35,000 scores already entered. The database is created using a “wiki” format which allows users to add and edit their equipment as necessary to fill out their bags. Users have the ability to rate and comment on each piece of equipment in the database providing insight and helpful information for the whole community.
oobgolf is the first free provider of this service on the web and the only one available for amateur golfers.
