February 13, 2007 - February 13, 2007 - Buffalo, NY -- In addition, the station provides historical insight into the songs and artists who created rock and roll during the 1950s.
The new BluesRoot Radio website offers a play list listing, interviews, insider information into the songs and history of the music, interactive elements including polls, and an emerging artist feature that allows modern Americana music artists to submit selections for airplay consideration.
BluesRoot Radio is celebrating a one year anniversary this month and has garnered a growing worldwide audience.
"The success we're having with BluesRoot Radio is just another
reflection of the changing face of radio. Radio has changed from being local to worldwide in reach," said John Moore, President of BluesRoot Entertainment, the parent company of BluesRoot Radio.
He added, "We play the timeless music that built the foundation of rock
and roll. Our audience comes from everywhere…small town America and Canada, cities, and all around the globe. It is the kind of music that the baby boomers grew up with."
Moore added that the station has begun to accept submissions from emerging artists due to a tremendous groundswell of requests.
He said, "We won't play anything just because it was submitted.
It has to match the Americana framework of what we do. That means music must have a blues feel, a rockabilly feel, or an old time rock and roll feel to make the grade."
He added, "But we encourage all young artists anywhere in North America, or around the world for that matter, to send their commercial grade CDs to us for consideration. The next Elvis is playing in a basement somewhere…maybe next door to any of us."
The station can be accessed through the new website or from www.bluesroot.net or at www.live365.com/stations/bluesroot.
Moore concluded, "BluesRoot Radio is the way it should be...free, 24-hours a day, and without commercial interruptions."
