July 25, 2009 - Online baby shop Hello Baby (www.HelloBabyDirect.co.uk) has launched the Peek-a-Boo Baby Rattle, a fun iPhone application for toddlers. Now parents with an iPhone will be able to amuse and entertain their children whenever they are caught short without any toys or games. The app is available for free through the Apple iTunes store.
“The inspiration for the iPhone app came from my own daughter’s obsession with my iPhone” said Trevor Ginn, Managing Director of Hello Baby. “She loved playing with the iPhone so I though it would be nice for her to have her own iPhone app”. The Peek-a-Boo Baby Rattle displays a picture of an animal when it is shaken and plays the animal’s noise. This simple and colourful application teaches children the names and sounds of animals as well as captivating their attention.
“At Hello Baby we love to innovate with cutting edge technology and we could not wait to launch our own iPhone app” said Trevor. “Early feedback has been great. The application has had over a thousand downloads in the first three weeks. We believe we are the first UK online baby retailer to launch our own application but I am sure others will soon follow our lead. The Peek-a-Boo Rattle allows us to promote our business to the growing number of iPhone users and also give something back to our customers.”
Hello Baby has also been active in other new social media platforms and has its own blog, twitter profile and Facebook page. Twitter has been a particular success for the company and they now have over 500 followers. “Online social media is a great way of entering into a two way communication with customers” said Trevor. “Increasingly customers are turning away from traditional broadcast media and expect a more interactive relationship with retailers”.
