September 10, 2009 - Calgary, Alberta – One Eye Industries President Roger Simonson announced today that the company has opened its first branch office in Australia. Located in Brisbane, OEI Australia will commence operations in early April 2009. “From Australia we are in a better position to support our customer's needs for filtration improvements not only in Australia but also in South Africa, New Zealand, South East Asia and the Pacific Islands” stated OEI Australia General Manager Owen Uebel, “Our long term goal is to open a local manufacturing facility which will benefit our customers with improved delivery time and the ability to manufacture special filtration systems, as well as create jobs which benefits the community and country as a whole”.
Uebel brings a long work history within the Australian industrial sector, “I was working with Australia's largest supplier of bearings & power transmission when I became involved with OEI through a series of technical conferences orchestrated by Rio Tinto and BHP. In particular Rio Tinto had brought OEI to Australia as they were having great success with the product in the USA. That was two years ago and it was instantly obvious that from the reaction of the major mining and industrial companies here, that OEI was a highly sought after product for its proven performance and improvements in fluid cleanliness.”
