Old Colony Elderly Services Holds Health Screenings at Elderly Housing Complexes in Brockton

Old Colony Elderly Services (OCES), a private, non-profit Aging Services Access Point (ASAP) that provides valuable programs and services to seniors, their families and caregivers, recently held Health Screening Clinics for tenants at four elderly housing complexes in Brockton.


(1888PressRelease) September 12, 2008 - DATELINE: PLYMOUTH COUNTY AND AVON, EASTON AND STOUGHTON, MA.

In an effort to promote health and wellness in Brockton seniors, OCES held Health Screening Clinics at Bel Air, Caffrey Towers, Campello High Rise and Manning Towers. Maxim Health Systems, a division of Maxim Healthcare Services, conducted Cholesterol, Osteoporosis (bone density), and Dermaview (skin cancer) screenings on the tenants who attended the clinics.

“Many elders wait until they are not feeling well to seek medical attention. Screenings help to detect disease or illness in the early stages. For example, skin cancer is not always recognized by the untrained eye, but may be detected during a screening. We are encouraging all seniors to become proactive about health screenings,” explained Diana L. DiGiorgi, Executive Director of OCES.
