Old Colony Elderly Services Announces Monthly Support Groups

Old Colony Elderly Services, Inc. (OCES) in Brockton, a private, non-profit Aging Services Access Point (ASAP) that provides valuable programs and services to seniors, their families and caregivers, recently announced two new monthly caregiver support groups in Plymouth and Hanson.


(1888PressRelease) September 01, 2008 - Beginning September 3rd, a support group for family caregivers will be held the first Wednesday of every month from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Comfort Keepers. Comfort Keepers is located at 37 Industrial Park Road in Plymouth. Rochelle Sugarman, Caregiver Specialist for the Family Caregiver Support Program at OCES, will co-facilitate the group.

Another caregiver support group will meet the second Wednesday of every month, beginning September 10th, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., at the Hanson Senior Center at 132 Maquan St. in Hanson. Nicole Welch, LCSW, Program Development Manager at OCES, will co-facilitate this group.

The support groups are designed to provide caregivers with education and guidance as well as help them enhance their health and well-being while they manage caregiver responsibilities. Light refreshments will be served at both support groups.

In addition to the Family Caregiver Support Program, OCES offers a number of other programs to serve seniors, families and caregivers. These programs include Caring Homes and Enhanced Adult Family Care; Supportive Housing; Nutrition; Money Management; Protective Services; Home Care and more.
