  • Columbus, OH (1888PressRelease) April 04, 2014 - Zach Gallman is a senior at Ohio State and this past weekend he competed at the Battle of Buckeye State Strongman Competition. He placed 2nd in the 300 pound class of the heavyweights which earned him a trip to the Strongman Nationals in Reno, NV. It was his first competition since his injury at a Strongman competition in September 2013. Zach placed first in the 280 pound axle and also placed first in the log clean and press medley with 6 repetitions. Other events included a deadlift medley, farmers carry, an 815 pound yoke walk, and atlas stones.

Zach reflects on the contest: "It was good to be back in competition. I've lost about 50 pounds since my last competition and I've been out of the game for a few months, so it's nice to know I can still run with the big boys. Now, I look forward to training for Nationals and qualifying for the Arnold Amateur Strongman World Championships again."

Zach trains with his strongman team in Plain City, Team BOSS, and also with his fellow strength coaches at The Spot Athletics. Owner and Head Strength Coach, JL Holdsworth, had this to say about Zach: "His hard work and dedication are what makes him a successful strongman competitor and a great personal trainer. I am proud to have Zach as part of my staff. Hopefully, he will continue his success and have a great showing at the Strongman Nationals."
