NYC Fitness Expert Helps NYPD/FDNY Compete to Get in Shape to Benefit Shriner's Childrens Hospitals


New York, NY (1888PressRelease) December 15, 2008 - NYC FITNESS EXPERT VOLUNTEERS TO HELP POLICE AND FIREFIGHTERS GET A START ON THEIR NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS WHILE HELPING THE SHRINERS HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN

New York City fitness expert Natasha Linton and The 911 National Fitness Challenge continue their mission to help children with disabilities. NYC EMS, law enforcement and firefighters will compete as teams to lose fat and gain muscle. In this win-win situation thousands will be raised for children’s hospitals plus NYC 911 responders will shed unwanted pounds with the help of Natasha Linton. Proceeds from registration will benefit the Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals, which provide free medical care for children under 18 years old with brain injuries, spinal cord and burn trauma. The team with the greatest averaged weight-loss will receive $5000 and a trip to Las Vegas. Communities, throughout the city will benefit as their 911 responders improve their health, which equals increased quality, efficiency, productivity and safety.

About the 911 Fitness Challenge: As it enters its eleventh year, the 911 Fitness Challenge has become a highly-anticipated event for thousands of hard-working first responders throughout the U.S. and Canada. The 911 Fitness Challenge is a 12-week program with the objective of losing fat, and gaining muscle. In addition to promoting teamwork and morale among the teams, the challenge provides incentive for 911 responders who want a comprehensive fitness program provided by Natasha Linton. Active or retired 911 responders and their spouses are competing. Each team consists of 3-5 members. Weigh-ins will be conducted in January, and weigh-outs in April.
