December 25, 2006 - The National award winning 1968 Ford Mustang aka "PIT VIPER" will be auctioned during prime time on Friday, January 19th at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, AZ.
This is #001 of the series of Pit Vipers that are being built by TPI Total Performance in Wichita, Kansas (www.tpitotalperformance.com).
The owner, Brook Phillips, said this has been a project he has wanted to build for a long time.
This could possibly be one of the TOP built Mustang in this category. The car features a new 427-V8 that has been dynoed at over 650 horse power with a 6-speed manual transmission. The interior has custom made Shelby embroidered hi-back bucket seats with 5 point quick release harness, Shelby signature 160 MPH gauges, custom steering wheel, Vintage Air a/c /heat systems, and a custom console. The wheels are by HRE Performance Wheels and the tires are Michelin Pilot sport tires. The body mods were all modified in house at TPI with custom paint.
