April 06, 2008 - Delhi, The recent teaming up of Internet jobs site CareerBuilder and Facebook is welcome news for job services and aspirants. This alliance would facilitate clients to run job recruiting campaigns among the users of Facebook. The ads would be displayed in the website or in user’s daily activity. Now, does this development means an emergence of social banner network?
The vice president of CareerBuilder’s consumer marketing division, Richard Castellini said that, "CareerBuilder is spending a considerable amount of money to promote on the Facebook site and the Facebook network, and then we'll have the ability to resell certain units to continue that promotion for our clients," CareerBuilder is an initiative of newspaper publishers McClatchy Co., Gannett Co. Inc. and Tribune Co.
The potential recruits would now be targeted within the social networking site. Once the user makes a click through, he/she will be directed to CareerBuilder site. It is believed that this teaming up would cater to corporate clients in reaching prospective recruits. Say, an engineering college senior who is about to finish his degree programme.
The targeting and delivering of ads is something that was associated with platforms like banner network. This advancement could be an emergence of a social banner network. Everyone is aware of the growing user base of social networking and its prevailing position in trend of online activities. This could be the opening of a new avenue for job seekers, recruiting firms and employers.
