October 23, 2008 - The partnership between REV and Novex will mark the first time a 100% battery electric vehicle will be used in a fleet courier setting. This initial test program will be conducted with 5 Ford Escape SUV’s, which will be converted by REV into pure battery electric vehicles. These zero emission models are expected to appear in the Novex fleet early in 2009.
“This is just another step for us in our goal for a 100% clean fleet by 2012. Our partnership with REV for electric vehicles is just one of many solutions to make a difference in the communities we serve. We are aggressively looking for best in class vehicles to reduce the environmental impact of our fleet and REV’s plug-in hybrids and pure battery electric vehicles are ideal,” says Novex CEO Robert Safrata.

As concerns over global warming and gas prices have increased, plug-in vehicle conversions are gaining popularity. Because gas is 10 times more expensive than electricity, the fuel savings of plug-in vehicles offset the conversion costs. REV’s battery electric vehicle conversions are road legal at highway speeds, produce no carbon emissions and will be widely available to fleets in 2009.
