April 11, 2008 - Trout Point Lodge of Nova Scotia announces that Forbes Traveler has selected the Trout Point Cooking School for its list of the "World's Best Culinary Trips" in an article published yesterday. Forbestraveler.com is published by the New York-based media company that also publishes Forbes magazine and the forbes.com web site.
Trout Point Lodge has offered culinary vacations since opening in 2000. Its cooking school was among a worldwide top 10 list prepared by Forbes. The list also included such well-respected cooking vacation programs as the Rhode School of Cuisine in Morroco, La Cocina de Oaxaca in Mexico, and the Kea Artisanal of Greece.
The article singles out Trout Point for its eco-friendly practices and notes that the Nova Scotia Seafood Cooking School provides "a desk-to-sea-to-table learning experience" for participants. Trout Point was the only Canadian entry on the list. The 3-day, 2-night all-inclusive programs include hands-on cooking instruction with chef-proprietors Charles Leary & Vaughn Perret, as well as a field trip to a seafood-related destination, accommodation, and all meals.
According to the web site, ForbesTraveler.com is designed exclusively for the affluent, discerning traveler. With the active participation of the world's leading experts on luxury travel, it is the premier online source for inspiring, planning, and booking the world's most distinctive travel experiences.
Trout Point's cooking program was also listed among the top 10 culinary vacation destinations by Condé-Nast last year. The Lodge is located in Kemptville, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, adjacent to the Tobeatic Wilderness Area.
