Northern France on track for success at INNOTRANS 2008

The Northern France Village will group together 25 companies from the region’s European Railway Cluster at INNOTRANS, the world’s leading trade fair for the railway industry, which will be held in Berlin from 23 to 26 September 2008. Northern France is one of Europe’s leading centres of excellence in rail-transport technology.


(1888PressRelease) August 14, 2008 - The Northern France Village will group together 25 companies from the region’s European Railway Cluster at INNOTRANS, the world’s leading trade fair for the railway industry, which will be held in Berlin from 23 to 26 September 2008. Northern France is one of Europe’s leading centres of excellence in rail-transport technology.

At INNOTRANS, the Northern France Village will cover almost 360m2 and will bring together 25 companies from the Nord-Pas de Calais and Picardie regions of Northern France. The diversity of exhibiting companies demonstrates how rich this high-tech cluster is in terms of expertise, with specialists in rolling-stock manufacture, infrastructure equipment, services, operations and maintenance. Each participating company will have a 20- to 30-minute session to unveil its latest products and innovations. The programme for these presentations will be available soon.

In addition to the companies from the region, there will also be an institutional stand grouping representatives of the AIF (French Railway Industries Association), of the i-Trans competitiveness cluster, of the Nord-Pas de Calais and Picardie regions, and of NFX, the investment promotion agency for Northern France, together with its partners, which are the region’s three metropolitan development agencies (APIM–Lille Métropole, ADUS–Maubeuge, and Valenciennes Métropole). These institutional participants will present a number of established sites in the region that are specifically devoted to research and development. This stand will be located in Hall 3.2, Booth 250–4B.

A delegation of elected officials and business leaders from Northern France, led by Daniel Percheron, President of the Regional Council of Nord-Pas de Calais, and Claude Gewerc, President of the Regional Council of Picardie, will be visiting the trade fair on 25 September 2008.
