Nonprofit Alliance of Monterey County Opens Nominations for Outstanding Nonprofits and Unsung Heroes

  • Salinas, CA (1888PressRelease) September 25, 2014 - For the last ten years, the Nonprofit Alliance of Monterey County (NAMC) has worked to increase the capacity and collective power of the nonprofit industry for the benefit of all people in Monterey County. To commemorate its 10th anniversary and in recognition of the collective impact of the non-profit sector, the Nonprofit Alliance of Monterey County will celebrate with a special breakfast on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Clement on Cannery Row. This event will be a unique opportunity to honor two important groups: 1) specific nonprofits that have made tremendous contributions to the community; and 2) the unsung heroes, who have worked creatively and tirelessly on the staffs of nonprofit organizations in Monterey County.

    The 10th Anniversary Honorary Committee 
consisting of: Mary Adams, CEO of United Way Monterey County; Dan Baldwin, President & CEO of Community Foundation for Monterey County; Margaret D'Arrigo-Martin, VP of Community Development at Taylor Farms; Joe Grainger, Executive Director at Harden Foundation; Laurel Lee-Alexander, Director of Philanthropy at Monterey Peninsula Foundation, and Dr. Bettye Saxon, Area Manager of AT&T External Affairs, invites organizations and community members to submit nominations, due by Friday, Oct. 3, 2014.

    Nominate a Nonprofit Organization: Nonprofit organizations that have demonstrated significant impact, effectiveness and/or innovation are eligible to be considered for the nonprofit agency award. Organizations may be self-nominated, or be nominated by individuals who are familiar with them. Nominations should include a description of how the organization exemplifies at least one of NAMC's core initiatives:
