June 23, 2009 - Herocare joined the families of Camp Pendleton’s Assault Aircraft Unit on Thursday, June 18th in celebration of their contribution to our community and to share the benefits of the Herocare program.
Herocare distributed hundreds of drumsticks, popsicles and ice cream sandwiches to thank our local military heroes and partake in the Unit’s Family Day celebration which featured jumpers for kids, popcorn, face painting and informational tables to educate families about the services available to help them.
“We are so thankful to the heroes of our community for their personal sacrifices and were so pleased to be able to thank them personally for their service,” said Program Director, Carl Spiteri. “Herocare recognizes the sacrifices the military personnel and their families make to our nation and Herocare simply wants to share its support and services to ease their burden.”
The event was held on Camp Pendleton and hundreds of family members and children were partaking in the festivities.
