June 12, 2008 - Noblis, Inc., a nonprofit science, technology and strategy organization, hosted the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) Workforce Committee meeting on June 11, 2008. With a theme of “Tactics in the War on Talent,” the meeting focused on welcoming NVTC member-company summer interns.
The NVTC Workforce Committee welcomed its members’ summer interns and their immediate supervisors to join the committee for comments from Virginia Secretary of Technology Aneesh P. Chopra, as well as activities focusing on leadership skills.
Noblis President and CEO Amr ElSawy said, “Noblis looks forward to launching the summer internship season with energy and focus. This was a unique opportunity for the best and brightest of summer interns to hear from the leader of technology efforts in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and, for leading technology companies to meet the industry stars of the future. We want to provide an impressive experience to challenge these rising young leaders to return to northern Virginia when they graduate, and also have some fun getting to know one another here, this summer.”
Noblis Corporate Vice President and Chief Technology Officer H. Gilbert Miller, PhD, is heading up the 2008 Noblis intern program. He said, “At Noblis, we strive to be a talent magnet to help us continue our work as an innovative company producing enduring impacts. The 2008 Noblis internship program includes 19 students chosen from hundreds of applicants.
Like the diverse Noblis staff, the interns span a wide range of skills, educational backgrounds, and career interests.” The summer workforce meeting was held at Noblis headquarters, 3150 Fairview Park Drive South, Falls Church, Virginia on June 11, 2008, from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
