September 05, 2009 - ROCHESTER, NY: Nexus iSR, LLC – The Nexus Hawk mobile router’s highly secure Wi-Fi encryption scheme remains the gold standard of the industry. It is immune to the vulnerability recently disclosed in a paper from Japanese university professors titled, A Practical Message Falsification Attack on WPA.
Commenting on the report that was also reported on Yahoo.com, arstechnica.com said, “An attacker can now read and falsify short packets in the common TKIP version of WiFi Protected Access (WPA) encryption in about one minute.”
While this may be true for less robust products, the Nexus Hawk uses the significantly more robust AES encryption schema in its WPA implementation making it fully and natively impervious to this vulnerability.
“Nexus ISR takes security and encryption seriously”, said Evhen Tupis, Nexus ISR’s Vice President of Engineering and Product Management. Continuing, Tupis said, “The Nexus Hawk’s defense-in-depth approach includes the even higher-level WPA2 encryption scheme and a selection of VPN endpoint strategies, with military-grade security.”
