Newlywed wins Bartow Ford's 'Supercab Country Scramble'
97 Country/ WPCV hosted the 2011 Bartow Ford Supercab Country Scramble from November 12 - November 16, 2011. During this contest four finalists were living in a F-150 Supercab 24 hours a day with nothing except bottled water inside the truck with them.
- Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) April 11, 2012 - When asked a few minutes before the drawing took place what their final thoughts were, the four finalists shouted "Thank God it's Wednesday!"
97 Country announced Michelle Jones as the winner of the F-150 that she spent her honeymoon living in for a gruesome 96 hours. Michelle got married just one day before the contest started, and said from day one she was "in it to win it." Many hugs were shared between the newlyweds after the drawing took place. When asked how she felt after winning, a very emotional Michelle replied "Shocked!"
After the initial shock wore off, an ecstatic Michelle gathered around the other three contestants and said "There's still one thing we need to do." The four of them got back into the truck and began moving the seats, turning on the radio, honking the horn, and rolling the windows up and down. These were all of the things they were forbidden to do during the contest, as they could not touch anything in the truck while they were living in it.
The other three contestants, Bobbie Jo Walter, Roy Moro and Susie Harris were given $2,500 for being in the contest.
Bartow Ford goes in partnership with WPCV annually to give a truck to someone in the community.
