Newcomer Quango Inc. Ranks #10 In Oregon Business “100 Best Companies To Work For In Oregon” In 2007 Ranks #4 For Benefits And Compensation Amongst Small Companies

In their first year on Oregon Business magazine’s annual list of the 100 Best Companies to Work for in Oregon, Marketing and Design firm Quango Incorporated placed 10th out of 231 participating companies in the small business category. Quango also ranked 4th among small businesses in the Benefits and Compensation category.

With 15 salaried employees, Quango billed nearly $3 million in services in 2006.

Sponsored by Oregon Business magazine, the annual 100 Best survey rankings are based upon confidential employee satisfaction surveys and a benefits report completed by a company representative. Companies are categorized as small if they employ fewer than 250 individuals.

Participation in the survey is voluntary and free of charge. In 2007, nearly 31,000 employees rated their satisfaction with 342 employers in 50 workplace qualities in five categories:

- Benefits and compensation: health coverage, fitness program, retirement plan, salary and bonuses, employee retention

- Work environment: scheduling, diversity, family balance, teamwork, fun, technology, charity/community work, policies and procedures

- Decision making and trust: collaboration, trust and openness, cooperation across divisions, organizational pride, ethical standards

- Performance management: performance feedback and goals, employee accountability, rewards and incentive

- Career Development and learning: opportunities, promotions, employee training, educational support, company communications

2007 is the 14th consecutive year the 100 Best Companies to Work for in Oregon survey has been conducted by Oregon Business magazine, a monthly publication of MEDIAmerica Inc.
