March 25, 2008 - Latinoartsandcrafts.com was started in 2007 as an internet company to promote, import, show and sell art of obscure and up and coming artists globally by Leticia Acosta and Mauricio Gomez, both of Passaic, NJ.
Born from a passionate love of art and respect for the creative process as well as the artist, this forum was created in order to locate, showcase and promote on the behalf of the artist, with the end result of exposing otherwise hidden talent to the forefront on a global scale.
While the focus of the site is Latino art and artists, all are welcome and encouraged to be added to the site.
Latinoartsandcrafts.com’s goal is to host a wide collection of Latin American and contemporary art, shown in a way that serves the most experienced art collectors and curators but also welcomes new art enthusiasts. A curator is in charge of the selection process of artists for the website.
Although art is the main focus at Latinoartsandcrafts.com, it also hosts other services such as Import and Export to and from the US and abroad, postings and sales of antique and restored automobiles, art books for sale and original commissioned art from abroad.
"There's just so much talent and beautiful artwork out there, begging to be seen, but because of socioeconomic limitations, lack of know-how or just plain unavailable time, artists do not get exposure globally.
